What is Health and Safety Awareness Training?
To maintain a safe work environment, all employees must be familiar with their rights and responsibilities in the workplace. Workers must also know that their employer is bound by law to follow a set of regulations that promote safety in any establishment. This course is geared towards workers and aims to familiarize them with safety regulations and protocols that they and their supervisors must observe. In addition, topics such as common on-the-job hazards are covered to ensure employees are better prepared for the dangers associated with their line of work.
Who Is Responsible for Health and Safety Awareness Training?
In all Canadian jurisdictions, it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure a safe work environment for all employees. In Ontario, this also includes the implementation of appropriate Health & Safety training for all workers covered under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Employees are required to take part in the course and dedicate some time to understanding the topics discussed therein. Individuals looking to improve their CVs before an interview can also acquire and complete this training program independently.
What Do You Need to Learn?
To obtain this safety certificate, you must demonstrate your understanding of the rights and responsibilities of a worker, and the duties of supervisors and employers. You must also be able to identify common work hazards and propose a broad set of safety measures that you can apply to avoid them.
How Long Is the Certificate Valid?
Due to the importance of safety in the workplace, it is recommended that employees re-take this course every year. In addition, workers who change jobs or employers may be required to re-take this course or to provide proof that they have previously completed it.
What Other Courses Should I Take?
Health & Safety Awareness is often paired with WHMIS 2015, NORM, Electrical Safety and Awareness, and Fire Safety. To consult a package of safety courses required in your specific line of work, please visit our consultation page and select your job from the list.

My Payment was declined. What to do?
There are multiple reasons why a payment might be refused by our payment processing system.
Unfortunately, we do not have access to the reason a bank may have failed to make a payment, so the only solution we have at the moment is to recommend you call your bank and see exactly why the payment was declined and how you can fix that.

Our courses are structured in modules and testing sections.
When you make a purchase on eSafetyFirst you are paying for the entire course. At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate which will demonstrate that you have received the theoretical training and the evaluation for that specific course.
